i'm almost elated. reality is finally setting in for the list of companies that think broadband is somehow this huge gold-mine with public safety entities. somebody finally "gets it", and maybe the rest will open up their fucking eyes and see it too.
the article describes the reality better than i ever could. the real-world applications finally are trumping the wet-dream ones that just aren't going to come to fruition any time in the near future (until cars drive themselves and criminals can't run, at least).
now, if everyone just pays attention for a few minutes, the 700MHz band might actually get put back to where it belongs... in the hands of public safety, and not commercial wireless.
